Digital payments

Digital payment methods

Digital payments make tracking and paying invoices quick and easy if you have a separate business bank account.

The majority of banks now offer a free app, so you can keep track of your finances and customers can pay you on the spot via their app. (Which they use the app on their phone that is connected to their bank account, with your account details).

Once you have completed your work you need to invoice your customers.

You should be using apps like:

  • PayPal, Wave, Square Invoice, Freshbooks, Invoice Simple Estimate Maker, Easy Invoice, Invoice 2go: Easy Quote Maker, & Xero are all fantastic FREE apps for creating, managing and most importantly chasing up invoices at the click of a button. This saves you precious time and money doing it yourself.

Tablet, desktop or laptop?

Technology is getting smaller, lighter and more powerful.  That’s why businesses are using tablets or larger smartphones, instead of laptops or desktop computers. As tablets are easy to have on the go and great for showing your customers designs or spreadsheets.

With many tablets you can also use a mouse, pen or external keyboard with them through Bluetooth, so you can make them into a laptop, whenever you want. But they aren’t useful for everyone. Certain tradespeople need to use design software or they’re just used to computers than smaller devices, as they use higher-spec laptops or desktops for their large software.
